Collaborative study between BUCM and GenoVax yields a NSFC funding project
Beijing, September 1st, 2011. Collaborative study between Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Beijing GenoVax Biotech Corporation yields to further study on drug resistance-attenuating active ingredients from a clinically proven Herbal formula Qi-Gui-Yin. A NSFC funding project (81102777/H2803) was granted to PI Dr. Qun Ma from BUCM and co-PI Dr. Sherman Zhao from GenoVax, a subsidiary of PPG Inc. Scientists combine sets of information based on Peptide Array technology to identify specific antibodies that response to epitopes in lab studies. The new funding project “Peptide Array Technology-based bioassay for Qi-Gui-Yin formula comprising drug resistance-attenuating active ingredients and its mechanism of action” is now testing the compounds on PEP-HIT platform in hopes and will lead to new medications in the clinical treatment of multiple drug-resistant PAE infections.
