- Pegasus Pharmaceuticals Group Inc. ("Pegasus") introduced Careseng® SG, the second generation product in the Careseng® series. Based on the Oral Bioavailability Enhancement Technology developed by the company, oral bioavailability of the natural active ingredients has leaped to 60-70% in contrast with only 5% for most natural medicinal ingredients. This technology platform will play an important role in the modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Pegasus has also set up the production site in Taiwan for the Careseng® series.
- The scientists of National Research Council Canada (NRC) had assessed and evaluated the research project results of the anti-cancer mechanisms of Dammarane Sapogenins which are the active ingredients of Careseng® series, and approved this project as a national key research project with long-term funding support (File No. 502821).
- The pre-clinical and clinical studies of Dammarane Sapogenins were evaluated nationally in three rounds by the federal government of Canada and approved as a key national clinical research project (File No. 517826) with long-term research funding support.
- Pegasus collaborated with the Tri-Service General Hospital of Taiwan in the study of the effects of Careseng® oral solution on improving quality of life of patients.
- Pegasus collaborated with the Show Chwan Hospital of Taiwan in the research of the pharmacological activities of Dammarane Sapogenins.
- Based on the peptide detection technology of PepMetric Technologies Inc. (PepMetric), Pegasus collaborated with the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital of Taiwan in the research of protein expressions of SARS.
- Based on PepMetric's state-of-the-art technology platform of "Peptide-chip High Throughput-Hit (Pep-Hit)", Pegasus was the first in the world to discover the whole epitopes of SARS coronavirus.
- Panagin Pharmaceuticals Inc. applied the global PCT patent in Shanghai, China for "Saponins and Sapogenins for Use in Combination Therapy for Cancer" (PCT/CA03/00847).
- A research paper on "Anticancer Pharmacology of Careseng, a Natural Product of Ginseng" was published at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
- A research paper on "Aglycone Ginsenosides Induce Apoptosis in Cancer Cells via Activating Caspases" was published at the annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).
