Year 2000 and before:
• Pegasus Pharmaceuticals Group Inc. ("Pegasus") established a subsidiary company, Panagin Pharmaceuticals Inc., which is committed to the research and development of selective metabolite compound drug containing ginsenosides, and the novel drug applications around the world.
• Preliminary studies from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada showed that ginsenoside Rh2 is cytotoxic to cancer cells without toxicity and maybe the ideal anti-cancer drug candidate.
• In order to precisely develop the ginsenosides compound drug, Pegasus established the proprietary Selective Metabolites Compound Drug (SMCD) technology platform.

• Pegasus Pharmaceuticals (Dalian) Co., Ltd. in collaboration with the Norman Bethune Medical University, China (now part of the Jilin University), applied the Chinese patent for "20(s)-ginsenosides-Rh2 Production Process, Pharmaceutical Composition and Its Uses" (CN98100297).
1997:
• China Huayuan Inc. (Canada) is closed and Hope Clinic Inc. is set up.
